These studies provide adequate training to cover the needs of industry and Management in the field of Mechanical Engineering.

This bachelor's degree is aimed at training specialists with the capacity to design and maintain industrial machines and installations, to direct industrial works, to be responsible for industrial structures and constructions, as well as to organize and manage production.

They will also be able to direct and develop projects aimed at the construction and operation of structures, mechanical equipment, energy installations and manufacturing processes.

Suggested profile for newly enrolled students

The recommended applicant profile of the degree is oriented towards those students who have studied or come from the Science and Technology branch of Upper Secondary Education and Higher Level Vocational Training.

The students shall have adequate prior training in mathematics and physics, appropriate to their previous studies. The ability to observe and analyse, the capability to rapidly perform numerical calculation and to solve quantifiable problems. Logical and abstract reasoning are also very important. The ability to establish relationships between the observed reality and its description using mathematical models is also a very desirable attribute.

The personal attitudes of initiative, capacity for team work, personal organization of work, the ability to work under pressure, leadership, and taking responsibility and an interest in the practical application of knowledge to solve real problems are all highly appreciated. Finally, manual dexterity in handling instruments or equipment will be a skill that is widely employed both during and after the studies.
