The Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Management aims to provide graduates with a versatile training that allows them to start their own business as well as to perform management functions in companies and other public and private institutions.

Graduates will learn to identify and anticipate opportunities, allocate resources, organize information, select and motivate people, make decisions under uncertain conditions, evaluate results, improve the competitiveness of organizations, and contribute to sustainable development.

Bilingual Bachelor's Degree

Students may enrol in the Bilingual modality, which consists of at least 60 ECTS in subjects taught in English in the University of Almeria Bachelor's Degree, and a one-year stay at an English-speaking university, as part of the ERASMUS (or similar) programme, where at least 60 other ECTS must be taken.

The University will certify that the degree has been completed in the Bilingual modality.

Choosing the group.

The Bilingual modality involves carefully observing the section on group choice at the time of enrolment, both by those who wish to receive classes in another language and those who do not.

Suggested profile for newly enrolled students

New students must have an entrepreneurial and competitive spirit, and be curious about the world of business and business creation.

Although prior knowledge in the area of Social Sciences and in matters concerning Business Economics are valuable, they are not essential for accessing the degree, since general training in these subjects will be offered during the basic training.

Students should have a favourable attitude regarding accountability, people management, decision-making in an uncertain environment, critical thinking, team work, and ethical behaviour.

Academic opportunities. Relation with other studies

The Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Management shares basic training with the Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Accountancy, the Bachelor's Degree in Economics, and the Bachelor's Degree in Marketing and Market Research. 

Graduates in Business Administration and Management may take part in one of the postgraduate programmes offered by the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences: The Official Master’s in Business Management and Economics, The Official Inter-University Master’s in Corporate Accounting and Finance, The Master’s in International Business Administration and Languages, the Master's in Account Auditing, and the Official Master's in Sustainable Local Development and Co-development.

In addition, they will be able to access other official and non-official masters courses and those offered by the University of Almeria itself.

Professional opportunities

The BAM Bachelor's Degree offers its graduates a wide range of job possibilities:

  • To create their own companies and to become self-employment.
  • To carry out advice and consultancy work (freely practising the profession).
  • Working in the private sector, acting as the General Manager in family businesses, and SMEs as well as in large national and multinational companies.
  • Working in the private sector, performing management functions of medium or higher-level responsibility in any functional area of any type of company.
  • Working in the public sector (whether in nacional, regional, local or international organizations).
  • To pursue teaching (both in secondary education and at the University).
  • To pursue research.

Professional qualification

There are currently no legally regulated professions for the Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Management.

However, Decree 871/77, of 26 April 1977, approving the Statute for the Professional Activities of Economists, Chartered Accountants and Certified Accountants, indicates a set of functions related to Business Economics that are related to the competencies of this Degree.
