At the University of Almeria, the Master’s in Mathematics and the Master‘s in Compulsory Secondary and Upper-Secondary Education Teaching, Vocational Training and Language Teaching (hereafter the Master’s in Teaching) co-exist with the specialisation in Mathematics. Having completed their bachelor's degree studies in Mathematics, students are increasingly expressing an interest in simultaneously pursuing these two masters.

For students who wish to take the double degree, the University of Almeria has planned a pathway to feasibly complete them in 3 semesters.

Academic opportunities. Relation with other studies

The double degree will allow one to extend the training opportunities following its completion. Graduates may pursue any of the postgraduate programmes offered by the participating Faculties.

The Master's Degree in Mathematics gives access to the doctorate in Mathematics programme. The subjects offered are recognized as part of the Doctorate teaching period.

A foreign language competency equivalent to the B1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, must be attained within the authorized pre-registration period (DUA).

Professional opportunities

The Double Master's Degree in Secondary Education Teaching and Mathematics will offer its graduates the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of mathematics while preparing them to practise professionally as secondary education teachers in the various educational centres of the State’s autonomous communities. It allows access to doctoral studies that can be approved and offered in the education discipline.
