ATTENTION:
In the academic year 2023-24 this Master's introduces the following modifications:

  • Establishes the need to prove a knowledge of the Spanish language at level B1, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, before the date fixed for each admission phase, if the university degree granting access to the master’s degree has been obtained in an educational system whose official language is not Spanish. Students who can prove Spanish nationality or are from Spanish-speaking country are exempt.
  • Establishes a change in the name (erratum correction) of an optional subject: "Strategy and Development of the Brand Strategy" (UMA), must be "Aesthetic and Development of Brand Strategy" (UMA).

The main objective of this Inter-University Master's Degree is to initiate university graduates in research tasks related to Industrial, Agronomic and Architectural Design and to train engineering and architecture professionals with extensive knowledge in: Computer-aided design techniques (2D, 3D and virtual reality) applied to design in engineering and architecture and modern Geomatics techniques: Topography, Remote Sensing, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Digital Photogrammetry.

All this in collaboration with university teachers from the Universities of Cordoba, Malaga and Almeria.

Suggested profile for newly enrolled students

Since it is an inter-university master's degree with important basic components, such as Graphic Engineering and the application of new Computer-Aided Design and Geomatic technologies (Topography, Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing, Geographic Information Systems) to the design of industrial, agricultural and architectural products, to gardening, and to virtual heritage preservation, professionals interested in knowing about these subjects are very varied. The PhD Programme from which this proposed master's degree originates has, over the last nine years, mainly been chosen by engineers and architects, but also graduates in geography, archaeology, and biology, etc.

Knowledge of English is desirable, at least at the reading level, since many of the reference books for these new technologies are written in that language, and most have not been translated into Spanish.

However, we must emphasize that Engineering and Architectural Drawing, the basis of this master's degree, is part of the Semiology of Graphics, which in itself is a form of universal language expression, included within the broader science of Semiotics, also encompassing Linguistics.
