Summary

Nowadays, more and more information is becoming available that can be studied and analyzed. Therefore, data analysis has become increasingly important in different scientific areas, especially in the Social and Health Sciences, as is the case of Psychology and Neuropsychology.

Description

Traditionally, psychometrics has been used in psychology to offer reliability and validity (e.g. convergent validity) to psychological tests. With the development of Computational Sciences, data analysis tools have been created with greater power than the previous ones, as is the case of structural equation modeling (SEM). These tools are very useful for psychology and neuropsychology since the questions or problems posed in this science are very complex, with multiple variables that interact and relate to each other. SEM models have become an excellent tool in the creation and validation of tests.
