Summary
In this conference, Dr. Mª Oliva Rodríguez Ariza, will explain how from the identification and analysis of organic plant remains, preserved in special circumstances in archaeological sites (coals, wood, pollen, fruits, fibers, discarded remains in general), we can reconstruct both the ancient environment and the economic activities, diet, social relations, beginnings and process of domestication of current domestic plants or the use of plants in general (as fuel, for construction, as food, medicines, drugs, etc.). The contribution of Archaeobotany is nowadays essential for the reconstruction of the habits of societies of any historical period (from Prehistory to the present day).
