Summary
The goal of this course is to provide doctoral students with a comprehensive introduction to R programming for statistical analysis. Throughout the course, students will learn how to use R to perform various statistical techniques, including regression analysis, hypothesis testing, and data visualization. Students will also learn how to manipulate and clean data, and how to use R packages such as ggplot2 and tidyverse. In addition, to learning how to program in R, students will also be introduced to best practices in statistical analysis and gain a deeper understanding of how to conduct reproducible research. The course will provide hands-on experience with real databases and will culminate in a final project where students will apply their skills to research-oriented analysis. By the end of the course, students will have the necessary skills to use R for their own research projects, and will be equipped with the knowledge and confidence to continue exploring the various statistical techniques available in R. This course is intended to serve as a foundation for further study and will provide students with the skills necessary to continue exploring the full breadth of R's capabilities.
