Summary

The seminar deals with the principles of geometric vision where the aim is to extract three-dimensional information of the scene from one or several views of it. As a key element in this process, the geometric model of perspective projection is described, which is proposed with linear algebra tools thanks to the use of homogeneous coordinates. Special emphasis will be made on the application of this technology for the positioning of the camera in space or the creation of 3D maps, used in current problems such as mobile robotics, augmented reality or autonomous vehicles.
