The Management Committee will hold the following functions and powers attributed to it in the Regulations for Official Doctoral Studies of the University of Almería:
- Academic, economic and administrative management of doctoral studies at the UAL
- Recognition of EIEDT (Equivalent Research Evaluation for Thesis Supervision), which enables the possibility of supervising thesis.
- Resolve the proposals for the creation of new doctoral programs carried out by Faculties, Schools, Department Councils or Research Centers and those for the modification of existing ones.
- Authorize a tutor to belong to more than one doctoral program.
- Approve the incorporation of new tutors to the doctoral programs.
- Study and approval, if applicable, of extraordinary requests.
- Study and approval, if applicable, of requests for recognition of foreign doctoral degrees.
- Study and approval, if applicable, of international co-guardianships and other types of agreements.
- Resolve conflicts that arise directly against the Academic Committees.
