Structure of the Degree

The Master's is organised in 2 semesters, each of one comprises 30 ECTS.

The Curriculum structure includes 4 Modules, two compulsory Modules:

  • 1. THEORETICAL-METHODOLOGICAL CONTENTS (18 ECTS)
  • 4. COMPLETION OF STUDIES (18 ECTS)

and two elective Modules, which may be chosen:

  • 2. THE MEDITERRANEAN: FROM PREHISTORY TO MIDDLE AGES (18 ECTS)
  • 3. THE MEDITERRANEAN: FROM MODERN AGE TO CONTEMPORARY AGE (18 ECTS)

Students may take the 24 elective credits required, in addition to the two specialisations included in each Module, among those found in the available catalogue of other Masters.

Other training elective subjects:
To complete the Master’s elective credits offer, subjects belonging to other verified masters that have contents and competencies linked with the objectives of this degree may be offered up to a maximum of 6 ECTS. Each year, the Academic Committee of the degree may propose this subject catalogue among the current masters offered by the UAL in compliance with the procedure established by the UAL governing bodies. Initially, as a proposal for the 2018-2019 academic year the following subjects are suggested:

Master’s in Secondary Education Teaching:

  • 70352136. Learning and Teaching of Geography (4 ECTS; 2nd semester).

Master’s in Social Communication:

  • 71013211 History of Cinema (2 ECTS; 2nd semester).
  • 71011104 History of Present Time (3 ECTS; 1st semester).
    71012206 Communication and Historical Heritage (3 ECTS; 2nd semester).
    71013215 History of the Press (3 ECTS; 2nd semester).

Master’s in Historical Analysis of the Present:

  • 71082101 Democracy and Citizen Participation in Contemporary World (6 ECTS; 1st semester).

Master's in Migration, Mediation and Intervention with vulnerable groups:

  • 71112203 Globalisation, Migrations and Development (3 ECTS; 2nd semester).
