Generic set-up
If you use another desktop email client such as Apple Mail, etc., you can continue using it with Gmail, as it's compatible with POP and IMAP mail protocols. You just have to reconfigure your email manager in a few simple steps:
- Incoming mail server (IMAP) - requires SSL
- imap.gmail.com
- Port: 993
- Requires SSL: Yes
- Authentication type: OAuth2
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP) - requires TLS
- smtp.gmail.com
- Port: 465 (for SSL) or 587 (for TLS/STARTTLS)
- Requires authentication: Yes
- Authentication type: OAuth2
- Full name: (your name)
- Account or username: your full address (username@ual.es for ASP/RTS; username@inlumine.ual.es for students)
- Email address: your full address (username@ual.es for ASP/RTS; username@inlumine.ual.es for students)
- Password: your Virtual Campus password.
However, if you want to access your messages via POP (if you want to read this account via another Gmail account), you must set it up as follows:
- Incoming mail server (POP) - requires SSL
- pop.gmail.com
- Port: 995
- Requires SSL: Yes
