The Master's in Mathematics provides students with high-level, specialised, multidisciplinary advanced mathematics training as well as training in mathematical formulation, analysis, resolution and, where appropriate, computer problem treatment in various fields of mathematics. or in a variety of interdisciplinary fields: basic sciences, social sciences, engineering, finance, etc.

Persons wishing to take the Master's must possess sufficient prior mathematical knowledge of the areas covered by a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics (but not exclusively so). The Academic Committee shall propose, where necessary, the relevant supplementary training required to properly realise the master's degree.
In any case, regardless of previous training, the characteristics expected in a potential master's student include the following: a capacity for abstraction and logical reasoning, a taste for problem-solving, interest in mathematical applications, and familiarity with mathematical calculations.
