In a world increasingly aware of environmental the principles of sustainability. Aware of the environmental impact of travel, especially in the academic field, the UAL-UNIgreen Sustainability Awards are announced. This initiative recognises and rewards the commitment of international Erasmus students who opt for more sustainable means of transport, such as train, bus or carpooling, thus minimizing their ecological impact during their travels.
Not only do these awards seek to highlight individual good practices, but also to inspire the entire university community to rethink the way we move around the world. Every gesture counts, and choosing greener transportation is a concrete and powerful way to contribute to a greener and more responsible future.
One of the aspects that directly and indirectly affect the ecological footprint is mobility. To reduce the greenhouse gases (GHG) emitted by travel, we must opt for zero-emission transport systems and generally reduce the use of private vehicles, in line with the European Commission's guidelines, as set out in the ERASMUS+ Programme.
