International Cooperation at the University of Almeria

‎

In line with its commitment to meet Agenda 2030's Sustainable Development Goals, and being aware of the importance of its role as a promoter of initiatives contributing to a peaceful culture, eradicating inequalities and promoting sustainable development, the University of Almeria implements strategic policies through the Vice Rectorate for International Relations that encourage members of the university community to participate in international cooperation activities with less developed countries.

This commitment is reflected in UAL's International Cooperation Plan (abbreviated to PPCI in Spanish), which finances various actions, including cooperation and awareness-raising projects, aid to refugees, training and mobility grants, as well as international volunteering programmes.

Grants paid by other entities, such as the Andalusian and Spanish Agencies for International Development Cooperation (abbreviated to AACID and AECID in Spanish, respectively), are also managed by the International Relations Office, which executes these policies.

International volunteering is a great tool for awareness and sensitization to the challenges of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Contact with other cultures and realities also provides a unique opportunity for personal development and acquisition of solidarity values.
